Where champions are made in the Hunter Valley.
Sixty acres of world-class eventing, dressage and showjumping training — led by international riders and accredited coaches Tarsha Hammond and Andrew Barnett.
From vineyard to performance yard.
Werakata Farm sits on Majors Lane in Keinbah, in the heart of the Hunter Valley — once one of the Valley's original vineyards, known as "Portion 63". In 2005 we began its transformation into a dedicated performance horse facility.
Our 60 acres back onto Werakata National Park, home to kangaroos, wallabies and deer, with trails ideal for building fitness in horses preparing for three-day events. We're 15 minutes from Maitland and Cessnock, 45 minutes from Newcastle airport, and a short drive from the Valley's best wineries.
It's a family affair — run by Tarsha and Andrew with the tireless help of Gwenda and Ron, and two small future riders, Henry and Phoebe.
